In 1970s when the American Book Center was founded, Ms Varunee Tangsubkul located her first store in Udorn Thani, Thailand. Within a few years, business grew and extended into different areas such as an art gallery, pharmaceuticals, and jewelry.
In 1972, when her brother started a jewelry manufacturing operation in Bangkok, she then focused her business on the sale and exportation of jewelry and relocated the store in Bangkok, Thailand. We retained ABC (American Book Center) as our company name as a constant reminder of our beginnings and for the sentimental value it has for our family.
